The objectives of the procurement process are to obtain the goods and services for a project in accordance with the technical/quality, schedule, cost, and other performance objectives of a project.

The broad objectives of the procurement process for any size project are the same. It is necessary to adequately control the technical/quality, schedule, and cost performance of the suppliers and contractors on any type or size of project. Contract requirements for implementing the objectives will vary in accordance with the size of the project. A proactive well organized and focused approach is vital to the achievement of the objectives of the procurement process.
